Turn Your Patio Into an Outdoor Living Room

Adding a comfortable and stylish outdoor living space has quickly become an increasingly popular trend for most people. Home owners and renters alike are enjoying the advantages of adding extra living space to their homes without enduring the costs associated with building or remodeling their existing homes.

Now more than ever, consumers have an array of accessories and furniture options that can turn any patio, deck or even a patch of grass into a luxurious and cozy outdoor living room. From plush and cozy seating groups to fire pits and outdoor fireplaces, lamps, rugs and so much more, it’s easy to see why these versatile spaces have become so popular. And as an added bonus, the increased property value make it almost impossible to resist.

First, we need to begin with our main seating area. Sectional seating groups are comfortable, affordable and can be easily moved to accommodate any situation. However if extra dining space is what you’re after, focus on pieces that can be centered around an outdoor table. Remember, you are no longer limited to the “rickety old folding table and chairs”.  If your yard has a unique feature like a pool, chaises or lounges are always an option.

Pull you decor ideas together with an outdoor rug. Patterns, styles and colors to match even the most discriminating tastes, and long lasting, durable materials make this an obvious choice. Add in a few contrasting colored throw pillows for a little extra flair. Patterns and designs made of water repellent materials mean your new outdoor living space will not only remain functional but will also look fabulous and be easy to maintain for years to come.

Now that we have a nice cozy place to sit and entertain, it would be nice to see our guests. Modern all-weather lamps have all the style and class of any indoor version. Floor lamps, table lamps and accent lighting bring the perfect ambiance to any outside area. Low voltage systems and solar powered patio lights make installation easy and they won’t run your utility bills through the roof. If the evenings are cool, and space permits, add an outdoor fireplace or fire pit. Table top heaters work well in smaller areas too. Either way you decide to go, you’ll be able to enjoy your new outdoor living space even longer.

Your new outside living space will give you an entire new world to relax, and entertain in.  Add your personal touches to make it as friendly as possible and bring it all together with fun accessories. Add some plants and lamps or a heater and increase the usability of your space. Not only will your new outdoor living space  be the envy of the entire neighborhood, but with a little creativity the satisfaction will be yours …. for years to come.
